Pianissimo demons

Threading away from the liveliness of the city into the calmness of the countryside.

The wind, the flora, the fauna, the exquisite blend of nature breeding the idylls of dreams

At last! The nidus to nurture my demons restrained by the prying eyes of the open

Into the stillness I plummeted, turning down the jingles of the world for the echoes in my head to take the light

The chirping of the birds, meowing of cats, squeaking of rodents, barking of dog all ebbs to eternal muteness

My shadow grew, my head a band of whispers nailing the inside of my skull with intentions

The external calmness stirred chaos within me

With the caged demons wailing down my consciousness

Feeding me with filthy thoughts, ugly visions, blasphemous flashes, & the gracious drops of the forbidden fruit upon my lips

Driving my body to shrivel in the dampness of its forbearance

Who is to save me now? For I’ve dipped myself far from earshot, far from sight & probably beyond saving

How much more do I have to pay for my quest for peaceful silence

Moved to the countryside to escape the madness that is city life only to realise a greater foe – inner strife-.
Inner peace very difficult to attain but much fulfilling.
